The project
Migrations and redesigns quietly break things: old URLs with no redirect, links pointing nowhere, pages that jump around while loading. Checking all of that by hand does not scale beyond a few pages.
I use scripted audits instead. Sitemap crawls catch broken links and redirect gaps, Puppeteer scripts measure layout shift (CLS) across templates, and GA4 404 reports show which missing pages real visitors hit (one investigation covered about 2,630 “page not found” views in four weeks). The output is a prioritised list of 301 redirects and fixes, used on a law-firm migration, a nonprofit audit and ongoing client sites.
